OEDS Overview

Note: When the OPR<version Number>ORS license code is active, three radio buttons appear on the Application Settings screen that affect what Group Functions, Parameters, and Settings will be available.

- The Global radio button displays Group Functions/Parameters/Settings that will affect all properties located in all CROs in the ORS database.
- The CRO radio button displays Group Functions/Parameters/Settings that will affect all properties located in the CRO selected from the CRO LOV.  
- The Property radio button displays Group Functions/Parameters/Settings that are available on the property level, and will only affect the property selected in the Property LOV.

Functions

• AUTOMATIC PUBLISH - Activate Automatic Publishing Functionality.
• CHANNEL INVENTORY - Activate the Channel Level Inventory functionality. The available values are Y and N (activate and inactivate).
• CHANNEL RESTRICTIONS - Activate the Channel Level Restrictions functionality. The available values are Y and N (activate and inactivate).
• CHANNEL ROOM TYPE ROTATION - This parameter enables the rotation group functionality to operate through Channel Management. The available values are Y and N (activate and inactivate).
• ENHANCED ROM RATE DESCRIPTION - Activates enhanced room rate descriptions in channel conversion screens.
• GLOBAL ROOM TYPE ROTATION - Activate CHANNEL ROOM TYPE ROTATION FUNCTIONALITY.
• ON REQUEST - Activates On Request functionality. The available values are Y and N (activate and inactivate).
• OPERA CHANNEL MANAGEMENT - Activates the Opera Channel Management (OCM) functionality. The available values are Y and N (activate and inactivate).

Parameters

• ADS SOURCE CODE - This parameter is used for Expedia ADS only and determines which value is to be used as the source code on the reservation. The available values are Y and N (enable and disable). If the parameter is enabled, the source code is used from the XML message in the POS@Web value. If not enabled, then the source code value on the rate header is used. If not populated, use the value found in the Name field of Channel Setup.
• ADVANCED OWS PRODUCTS - Allows for separately sold packages to be configured as web bookable. If inactive, all separately sold packages will be available for web booking. If active, only packages that meet the requirement of being both separately sold and web bookable will be available for web booking.
• ALLOW BLOCK BOOKING FOR GDS USING RPC - This parameter is used to sell room types from a block via the GDS, only when the block code is mapped as a channel rate code. The available values are Y and N (enable and disable).
• ALLOW RESERVATION MODIFICATION FOR RESERVATION HAS ROOM NO - This parameter is used to prevent the modification of reservations which have a room number assigned. The available values are Y and N (enable and disable).
• APPEND COMPANY NAME BEFORE RATEDESC - Parameter is used for general availability for ows to append company name with rate description
• AUDIT DETAILS - Records the details of all system activity related to online electronic distribution and provides enhanced debugging information. The available values are Y and N (enable and disable).
• CACHED GENERAL AVAILABILITY - Allows the caching of general availability results in a cache schema when a request is made. This allows for a faster response when the same request is made again.
• CHECK RESTRICTIONS ON ET - Check the restriction when the travel agent ends the transaction. The available values are Y and N (enable and disable).
• CONVERT OWS AND GDS COMMENTS AS TRACES - Convert OWS comments and GDS Service information (SIN) messages to traces in ORS when the parameter is set to Y. The trace date will be created with the insert date of the booking instead of the arrival date. Traces will be created using the trace department configured under the OEDS parameter setting OEDS Trace Department. When the parameter is set to N, the OWS comments and GDS Service information (SIN) and Remark (REM) texts will not be converted to traces but will be inserted as Reservation Comments in ORS. The parameter setting OEDS Trace Department will not be displayed.
• CREATE NEW PROFILE - Create a new profile if the frequent guest number is invalid. The available values are Y and N (enable and disable).

  Note: This parameter is only created for ORS and CRO properties.

• DEPOSIT CANCEL AMOUNT CURRENCY - Parameter decides cancel and deposit amount needs to be returned for ows and gds in property currency or rate code currency. If set to Y amount will be returned in rate code currency.
• DYNAMIC REGIONAL AVAILABILITY SEARCH - If this parameter is set to Y, regional availability search will be done dynamically instead of searching in gds_rateroom_price table.
• ENABLE CC SECURITY CODE FOR GDS - When this parameter is active, the GDS channels are required to send the credit card verification code.
• ENHANCED MEMBERSHIP HANDLING - Activates the enhanced membership experience for the online user.
• GDS CHANGE PROPERTY UPLOAD - Always sends GDS property upload messages for any update in the property information. The available values are Y and N (enable and disable).
• GDS GALILEO RATECHANGE FOR PALSRQ - This parameter is used only in GDS for PALSRQ AND RPINRQ messages for Galileo. The available values are Y and N. If this parameter is set to N, the Property Availability response to Galileo will always be returned with the first night rate amount when a rate change occurs during the stay dates requested. The current rate change setting selected in the Galileo channel setup will be ignored. If Y is selected, the rate amount returned to Galileo will be based on the rate change setting selected in the Galileo channel setup.
• GDS NEW PROPERTY UPLOAD - Always sends GDS property upload messages for new property creation. The available values are Y and N (enable and disable).
• GDS SESSION INVENTORY CONTROL - This parameter enables reservations with a status of GDS-SESSION to either be deducted from inventory (Y), or not (N).
• GDS TOTAL PRICING - Enables total pricing for GDS Application.
• IATA EXCEPTION - Generate the GDS exception table if the booking is received without a valid IATA number. The available values are Y and N (enable and disable).
• MARKETING TEXT CHG - Text for Type B from the marketing table will be replaced with a guarantee code message generated by the GDS interface. The available values are Y and N (enable and disable).
• MEMBERSHIP ENROLLMENT AT RESERVATION - This parameter enables to create membership at the time of booking, if the membership does not exist.
• MODIFY CANCEL GDS BOOKING FROM WEB - Enabling this parameter will allow guests to make changes that do not impact inventory or cancellations to their bookings using OWS regardless of the source of the reservation.
• RECORD LOCATOR EXCEPTION - Generates the GDS exception table if the booking is received without a record locator. The available values are Y and N (enable and disable).
• RETURN RP3 - Allows two lines for a rate description and one line for a room description in a GDS property availability response. The available values are Y and N (enable and disable).
• SEARCH BY PARTIAL CONFIRMATION NUMBER - Allows a user to update or cancel a reservation based on the partial confirmation number. The available values are Y and N (enable and disable).
• SET RECORD LOCATOR AS EXTERNAL REFERENCE - This parameter sets the GDS record locator or third party CRS number as the external reference number. The available values are Y and N (enable and disable).
• SET RECORD LOCATOR CUSTOM REFERENCE -  A parameter value of Y populates a custom reference number for GDS and ADS with a record locator, which is the confirmation number from GDS and ADS. The available values are Y and N (enable and disable).
• SHOW TAX INFORMATION - Inserts tax information for type A reservations. The available values are Y and N (enable and disable).
• TRUNCATE OEDS REQUEST MONITOR - The table OEDS_REQUEST_MONITOR is used to capture and store WEB, GDS and ADS message traffic in order to trouble shoot issues with certain message requests. When selecting "Y," this table will be truncated on the last day of each month. When selecting "N," the table will not be truncated.
• UPDATE CLIENT ID ON NEG RATES - Updates the client ID on the channel negotiated rate, based on the value entered in the Corporate ID field. When the parameter value is N, the client ID will not update when the profile is changed. The available values are Y and N (enable and disable).
• USE ADS CONFIRMATION NO - A parameter value of Y indicates that the ORS confirmation number is comprised of the ADS confirmation number followed by first four characters of channel name. The available values are Y and N (enable and disable).

Settings

• ADS IATA - This setting determines which IATA is attached to the ADS reservations. This must be a valid IATA number that is attached to the TA profile.
• ADS MODE - This setting determines what mode the Opera ADS interface should accept incoming reservations.
• ADS WAIT TIME - This parameter determines the fail-over wait time in minutes for these Micros ADS services: ARI Resend, ARI Retry, Avh Bridge, Booking Limit, and Ping. When the last update time by the service plus this time has passed, another instance of the service is allowed to run.
• AIRLINE FREQUENT GUEST MEMBERSHIP TYPE - Default airline frequent guest membership type for GDS and ODS channels. This value is used for creating/updating memberships at the time of booking.
• AIRPORT CODE - The airport code for the ORS city. this field can not be null.
• AUTO FREQUENT GUEST MEMBERSHIP TYPE - Default auto frequent guest membership type for GDS and ODS channels. This value is used for creating/updating memberships at the time of booking.
• AVH BATCH SIZE - The number of AVH messages to consolidate at a time.
• AVH PROCESSING LIMIT - The number of AVH messages to process at a time.
• BUSINESS EVENT WAIT TIME - This parameter determines the fail-over wait time in minutes for these business event services: GWIZ Business Event Processor, Gaming Business Event, HTNG Business Event, EAS Business Event and EQC Business Event. When the last update time by the service plus this time has passed, another instance of the service is allowed to run.
• CANCEL WINDOW - The number of minutes during which reservation can be cancelled without penalty, once the booking is made.
• CHANNEL INVENTORY SELECTION - When set to SEQUENCE, room category order will be sequence set in channel management. When set to MaxAvail, room category order will be available rooms for room type. When set to MaxAvailPercentage, room category order will be percentage rooms available for room type.
• FREQUENT GUEST MEMBERSHIP TYPE - Default frequent guest membership type for GDS and ODS channels. This value is used for creating/updating memberships at the time of booking.
• GDS MAXAVAIL ALTERNATE RESORT - Indicates the number of properties that can be returned as an alternate property when the requested property is not available.
• GDS PURGE INTERVAL - Purges old GDS data from the temporary tables once processed.
• GUEST ADDRESS PHONE UPDATE - If the guest address or phone information is changed during the modification of the booking in the GDS system, the new address/phone information is inserted, updated, or not modified based on the value.
• MAX ALLOWED EXTRA - The maximum number of extra persons allowed.
• MAX ALLOWED ROLLAWAY - The maximum number of rollaway beds allowed.
• MAX AVAIL LIST ITEMS - Maximum number of rate and room records to search in order to provide available rate and room combinations in the general availability response.
• MAX RATE UPDATE - The maximum number of rate update messages.
• MAX REGIONAL RATEDAYS - The price table for regional availability, populated for a given number of days.
• OEDS FOLIO STYLE - Default Folio Style Used By OEDS When Generating Folio.
• OEDS REQUEST LOG - Disable Or Enable OEDS Performance Logging By Summary or By Each Request.
• OEDS TRACE DEPARTMENT - Enter trace department for OWS comments and GDS service information.
• OPENCOURSE WS EP - Web services end point for OpenCourse interface.
• OPENCOURSE WS PASSWORD - Password that will be used while calling OpenCourse web services interface.
• OPENCOURSE WS USERNAME - Username that will be used while calling OpenCourse web services interface.
• PROFILE NAME CASE SET - This setting allows the profile name to appear in the letter case type that the property wishes display on the profile screen (uppercase, lowercase, or initial caps).
• PURGE ACTION - The action to apply for a session purge. This value can not be null.
• RATE AVAIL UPDATE WAIT TIME - This parameter determines the fail-over wait time in minutes for these services: GWIZ Rate Update Service and GWIZ (AVSTAT). When the last update time by the service plus this time has passed, another instance of the service is allowed to run.
• RATE PLAN TEXT - The description to use when updating the rate plan text.
• RATE RANGE CURRENCY CODE - Setting to allow a property to specify what currency to return to the GDS for Property and Area availability in case of multi-currency chains.
• RATE UPDATE - The GDS rate update method.
• REGIONAL ROLLOVER DATE - This is the last rollover date used to populate gds_rateroom_price table. If the above date is less than the max future price synchronization date (property date plus MAX_REGIONAL_RATE_DAYS) data will be inserted in the table from this date to the max future price synchronization date.
• SEARCH FOR MEMBERSHIP NO. - Allows for a profile match based any one of the criteria selected in addition to the profile membership number.
• SWITCH PALSRP FORMAT - Displays the Pegasus message in a structured or segmented format.
• UTILITY WAIT TIME - This parameter determines the fail-over wait time in minutes for service GWIZ Session Purge. When the last update time by the service plus this time has passed, another instance of the service is allowed to run.
